<B> Sterile Eye Wash
Sterile Eye Wash

Tortoises and turtles often get foreign objects in their eyes. (and so would we if we lived life as close to the ground as they do). Pollens, dust, and sand can irritate eyes, and can lead to infections if left untreated.

Cleaning/irrigating eyes is not difficult. Simply use the bottle (without the tip of the bottle touching anything) by squirting a light stream into each eye. This should effectively and safely remove most irritants, and really helps to soothe irritated eyes.

Should your animal have obvious signs of an eye infection (swelling and/or colored discharge) this will NOT clear an infection. If you suspect infection, please seek the assistance of a qualified veterinarian immediately.

Often a tortoise's eyes become irritated from dust and pollen. This product works wonderfully to soothe irritated, dry eyes and provides lasting moisture after flushing with a sterile saline eye flush.

Please note, this is a moisturizing lubricant, and will not treat eye infections. If you have any questions regarding eye problems, or if your tortoise or turtle has swelling or colored discharge from the eyes, please contact a qualifed reptile veterinarian immediately.

<B>Terramycin® Eye Ointment with Polymyxin B
Terramycin® Eye Ointment with Polymyxin B

For treatment of simple eye infections. Terramycin® Eye Ointment with Polymyxin B can be used to treat primary infections of the eye in small and large animals. Contains 5 mg of Terramycin per gram.

Eye infections in reptiles can be secondary to or a precursor to respiratory infections (such as pneumonia), so please take your animal to a qualified reptile veterinarian if symptoms appear. Eye infections are often misdiagnosed as a Vitamin A deficiency. Not for human use.

There is currently a severe manufacturer's shortage on this item, grab a tube before it's gone!

<B>Povidone Iodine Solution (Generic Betadine)
Povidone Iodine Solution (Generic Betadine)

Povodine Iodine Solution is generic "Betadine." It is a valuable tool to have in the medicine cabinet "just in case."

If your tortoise or turtle becomes injured, using diluted povidone helps clear scrapes, scratches, and shell problems of harmful bacterial, fungal, and viral agents.

This product should not be used on puncture wounds.

This product should be added to water until a weak tea color appears. All tortoises and turtles must first be soaked to allow them to rehydrate themselves prior to placing in a povidone bath. A 5 minute soak in solution can be very effective if left to dry on the animal.

As always, please take an injured animal to a licensed veterinarian immediately.

Per 4 ounce bottle (Expiration date 10/2009):

Price: $4.99

<B>Chlorhexidine Solution 2% (Generic Nolvasan)
Chlorhexidine Solution 2% (Generic Nolvasan)

Used in practically every veterinary clinic in North America, chlorhexidine solution is a fantastic broad-spectrum disinfectant, and is effective at killing bacterial, viral and fungal agents. We use it to effectively disinfect enclosures, items such as water bowls, food dishes, and cage furniture. We also use it for foot baths.

To use this product safely and effectively, dilute 1 ounce of chlorhexidine in one gallon of water. Transfer to a new spray bottle.

For cages, spray it onto all surfaces and allow it to sit for a few minutes, and wipe clean.

For food dishes, water bowls, and cage furniture, completely spray items (or immerse) and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes, and then rinse with warm water.

For foot baths, dilute at 2 tablespoons per gallon

One bottle makes up to four gallons of disinfectant!
