Rodents (rats, mice, and ground squirrels) can wreak havoc to outdoor tortoise enclosures and ponds. Hibernating animals, regardless of where they are, may become victims during their winter sleep. Many an owner has unfortunately found a badly injured animal-or worse. Rodents chew on most anything, and tortoises and turtles are no exception.
Using poisonous baits can (and often do) cause injuries to non-target animals.

Rat Zapper Rats Nest
The Rats Nest will help protect the Rat Zapper for temporary outdoor usage. This is cheap insurance for your Rat Zapper when dealing with outside elements.

Tom Cat Mechanical Rat Trap
We often use these in easy to access areas (too small for other animals to get to) in order to protect hibernating animals from rodent attacks.
They also work well along "runways," the areas that rats most often use (along walls, fence lines, under bushes, etc.)
They are very asy to set by hand or by foot. No more smashed fingers using old fashioned wooden traps. This trap kills instantly.
Patented interlocking teeth. Removable bait cup allows trap to be baited without being set. (Peanut butter works best!) Simply squeeze the ends to open and release the rodent, and re-set.
