How quickly will I receive my order?

When you place an order with us for any variety of cacti, and some varieties of seed, you might not receive your order within 72 hours. Why?  Because we want for you to only receive the very best, and to ensure you get only the most for your money.  We have placed the following quality controls on all of our perishable products:

For Cacti, Cactus Fruit (pads, tunas, cactus pears)

After your order is placed, we await favorable weather conditions to harvest your cactus/fruit by hand.    This may be the same day, or we may need to wait.   We do not harvest cacti and then wait for orders to arrive, this is a bad practice, and you will not receive good quality cactus if it's been harvested weeks beforehand.

Most vulnerable is edible opuntia, as we  want your animals to gain the most nutrition, which means only the freshest cactus is good enough for us to send to you for your animals.

We define favorable as weather which will allow the parent plants to quickly defend themselves by creating a seal after cutting to avoid dehydration and or infestation by insects.  If weather is too hot, harvest can stress the parent plant, and if too cold, can cause the parent plant to fail to kick in with it's own self sealing defense mechanisms
quickly enough..

Careless harvesting from a parent plant can kill it.  We have a lot of time and care invested in our cacti gardens! Cactus propagation is often difficult, labor intensive (and prickly!) work, as is hand collection of certain varieties of seeds.

The cactus you are purchasing, regardless of species need to callous. (i.e. seal themselves at the place they were cut from the parent plant.)  If a cactus pad is not permitted to callous properly before shipping, it will be vulnerable to dehydration, mold, or mildew while in transit.

A pad harvested and sent the same day, compared to one which has been allowed to callous prior to shipping and remaining healthy, properly rooting and growing is reduced by as much as 75%.  (We've conducted our own tests by sending ourselves cactus through the mail, so we do know what works the best.)

Seeds

More often than not, you will receive your seed order in a timely manner.  If you do not, it's most probably because we test sprout each and every batch of seed, regardless of type, prior to offering it to our customers. Once test sprouted, it's off to you immediately.  Test sprouting takes 14 days, sometimes longer.

We demand flawless quality control on all products, and seed is no exception.  Our seed has always been, and always  will be test sprouted to ensure you are receiving only the very best for your animals.  Sprouted seed which passes our quality  control standards is then packaged, and is ready to ship.  If you wish to store extra seed you have purchased,  transfer it to a  brown paper bag and place it in your refrigerator.  

Delivery Confirmation/Tracking:

We choose the appropriate shipping option based on the size, weight, and contents of your order. 
UPS offers online tracking of orders. USPS offers “Delivery Confirmation.”  This is not a “tracking number.” It only serves to show proof of delivery of your package. 

You may be required to sign for your package upon arrival.

Shipping:

In the event of a package returned to us due to delivery problems beyond our control, shipping fees are non-refundable.  Shipping fees are also non-refundable on item returns. If we are charged a return shipping fee, user accepts full responsibility for return shipping fees.

International Orders:

By using this site, international buyers shall bear the responsibility for the following: (no exceptions)

All international packages are shipped via the United States Postal Service via air mail,  which does not offer tracking or confirmation  information outside of the United States.  By using this site, buyer assumes full responsibility should a package fail to arrive at its destination.  We have no control over international carriers, and shall not accept responsibility in the event of lost, stolen, or mis-delivered packages.

International buyers, by using this site,  also assume full responsibility of knowing what items are permissible to be shipped to their country of residence. Buyer assumes responsibility for any and all issues with customs fees, delivery, and all local and/or national import laws. 

 

 

Guarantee:

We warrant seed to be of the variety and quantity advertised. 

Seed is a live product which depends on many important related grower skills such as proper planting time, seed depth, type of soil, watering, proper use of fertilizers, weed controls, fungicides, insecticides, disease free soil, and reasonable weather conditions during the growing period. Germination is affected by such factors as temperature, moisture content, light intensity and contamination of planting media. These factors are totally out of the seller's control and are the buyer's responsibility and risk. 

Consequentially, the seller cannot unconditionally guarantee seed to perform properly, regardless of conditions or the buyer's methods or mistakes

Returns

No returns on perishable goods, no exceptions. 

Order Cancellation

An order placed in error may be cancelled if we are notified via email within one hour of receiving your order.
